Glittered Frame

Season's GreetingsHello!

I am popping up to show you my card.I was inspired by Make it Monday: Glittered Frames video tutorial (you can find it here ). It was challenging, but I love the final result.I want to share some pictures of the process. First I cut frame on my Cricut using Elegant Edges cartridge on Silhouette double-sided  paper. It was the easiest part. Cricut did an amazing job. I piled one side of paper and stick it to white base.

After that I piled second layer to actually reveal glue frame. Here came the fan part – covering with glitter 🙂

IMG_1764Finally it turned up in a frame.

I used Martha Stewart glitter and I am really satisfied how it looks at the end.

Next part is very tricky. I would like to have a snowflake in the center of the frame and… because I don’t have any matching paper I had to do everything I did with frame now using my Big Shot and Simon’s Snowflake die. This die cut has small elements and tiny lines. But with a little effort it turned in beautiful center piece for my card.

Last part my journey was making glittered frame for base. Here I used my glue pen and added glitter on the edges of card base.

IMG_1773The final touch – adding sentiment. I cut banner with wonderful die from Tinsel&Tags kit from Papertrey Ink and stamped on the sentiment from the same kit. The last-last touch was small dots with Ranger’s Glossy Accent and glitter on the banner and liquid pearl’s dots on over the background.

I never use glitter before. I always think the glitter is supposed to use for kid’s craft. So far I’ve changed my mind :). I really enjoy working with it, even though I looked totally glittery after. The card looks so festive and a little bit fairy tale like.

IMG_1619I used current sketch from Freshly Made but cut it to the square.

Absolutely lovely! I agree that your card is festive and fairy tale like. I’m not sure I agree that glitter is enjoyable to work with – have you managed to clean up all of the stray glitter or are you still finding it everywhere? I’ll find glitter in my eyebrows days after I have used it! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Love this glittery card! Like Kim above, I struggle with glitter but you’ve made it all look worth it – that snowflake is gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
