Flowery Card

Cricut FlowersHello everyone!
Today is Monday and that means a brand new challenge from Bitten by the Bug 2 goes live and here is my Flowery Card. Because of the National Old Stuff Day the theme for today’s challenge is Use a cartridge you haven’t use in a LONG time. Looking on shelf with my cartridges I realized, I use them all pretty often. But there is one, I used just ones after buying. I don’t know why, but Florals Embellished wasn’t in my favorite list and thank you to ….. for this challenge theme I can give it a little bit cut :).
IMG_2502wAs there is many images of flowers and butterflies and I wanted the image, I’ve chosen, to be main part of the card, I started from choosing the right size of white base for it. 4 by 5 1/2″ should be good for the flower size around 2″. (The green mat size – 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″, and actually card size 4 1/2″ by 5 3/4″).
I needed 2 flowers. That’s why I cut <Flwr12-s> from light green Bazzill card stock big one –  2″, smaller – 1 1/2″. Then from red  and pink card stock I cut elements of Layer 1 accordingly 2″ and 1 1/2″. Then – center. Here came some challenge. I didn’t like centers from this particular image and I went in creative journey cutting some centers from different images of this cartridge. After few tries I chose <Flower5> in Real Dial Size 0 3/4″ for big flower and 01/2″ for small flower.
IMG_2503wAfter cutting I put flowers together and added 3D foam tape for the dimension.
IMG_2506wNext preparing the background for the flowers.  I decided to make distress ornament. I took Heidy Swapp stencil and added yellow dye ink.

Last touch – doodling around the edges with Bundled Sage distress marker.
IMG_2510wAfter all preparations were done I put my card together, added a little bit liquid pearls aroung to light it up and stamped Verve sentiment.
