Going Green

Hello friends,
It’s time for a new challenge over The Paper Players and my first post as a Guest Designer. This week challenge is Going Green – use a recycled item on your project.
It was quite a challenge for me to use something recycled on my card. Even though we do a lot of recycling at home, I never reused anything for my card crafting. Except one thing 🙂 – stamp pouches. I do collect and save them for my fast shaker cards! Those lightweight plastic bags are perfect for sewing pockets. And here I am, quick and simple shaker tag card.
Recipe:
Cut a tag – Studio Katia Dotted Shaker Tag, heart – Stitched Nested Creative Notebook.
Then cut and emboss front panel – SSS Bundle of Stitched Shapes, Tim Holtz Sizzix ARGYLE embossing folder.
Sew a pouch, shaped to the tag, add sequins – Studio Katia Lipstick Red and Frosted White.
Stamp a sentiment – Studio Katia Smarty Pants.
Adhere a tag to the panel, and panel to the card base – Docrafts 3D foam tape.

I do hope that you join us for this challenge! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
Valentyna

I love the embossing, and your sweet Valentine, Valentyna! This is something I do on occasion – just so the recipient can re-cycle the sequins!

Welcome Valentyna – so lovely to have you guesting with us! What a great idea to recycle those little bags for shakers – a great tip from Michele above that then leaves these sequins to be easily used again too! Love your bright, white CAS Valentine – it really makes your sequins pop.

OH MY GOODNESS! How many stamp pouches have I thrown away (looking in the trash can right now), when I could have been using them for SHAKERS! You are so clever! Thanks for the tip, and I just love your beautiful, clean, pretty card!!

Valentyna what a fabulous shaker card! I love all the white space and the embossing. I couldn’t guess what your recycled item was, how clever to make a sequin bag from a stamp envelope!
